USP is Sprucing Up for Spring

It’s snowing on the first day of spring.  Luckily, the Union Square Partnership Clean Team has gotten a head start preparing for the new season. The Team has been working hard this winter combating the snow, and is now transitioning into spring cleaning mode.  They have been out this week painting street furniture, including fire hydrants, mailboxes, light poles, telephone booths, and bike racks.  They will also be cleaning and touching-up our lovely green bistro tables and chairs that supply our seating areas throughout Union Square Park and the Pedestrian Plaza on Broadway and 17th Street.  Once the weather warms up, our landscaping crew will be out doing spring plantings, fertilizing the lawn, planting flowers in the planters, and aerating and mulching the tree pits throughout the district.  Get ready for a fresh-faced Union Square this season!
