Less than a year after closing on 16th Street, Union Square Cafe opened in its new spacious home on 19th Street and Park Avenue South. Staying in Union Square was vital to the team, especially Chef Carmen Quagliata who said they couldn’t go more than a five-minute walk away from the Union Square Greenmarket, accordingly to The New York Times.

“Union Square Cafe has spent the last three decades sowing deep roots in its community,” said Sam Lipp, Director of Operations at Union Square Cafe and Daily Provisions and Union Square Partnership Board Member. “We could not be more thrilled to re-open on 19th St. and Park Ave. in the neighborhood in which we grew up.”

Prior to reopening next week on Tuesday, September 13, the Union Square staple is celebrating the past 20 unforgettable years in Union Square with stories from the community written on the ocean walls. Read the heartwarming #BWGMemories (we’ve already melted at four of the love stories) which will stay up until opening day, Continue reading
